Duggan Family Heart Health Fundraiser
Story
If you’ve ever met Tyler, you know he’s the kind of person who lights up a room! Despite living with a rare congenital heart condition since birth, Ty’s unwavering optimism and upbeat spirit always shine through.
Over the past few months, Tyler has faced some of his toughest challenges yet. He’s been in and out of the hospital due to complications from his Fontan procedure, and has had multiple procedures. Most recently, he was transported to Philadelphia and has been recovering from a large lymph procedure for a few weeks now. We hope this will put off the need for a transplant for some time, but he is starting the heart/liver transplant evaluation process since it takes quite a while!
As you can imagine, the emotional and financial toll on Tyler and his young family has been immense. Tyler has a wife and two year-old, Nora, at home. He hasn’t been able to work steadily since the fall, and had to leave his job due to prolonged hospital stays. And the disability approval process has taken months with no current help. Between frequent hospital visits, emergency travel, having to leave his job, and everyday living costs, the road ahead is uncertain and overwhelming.
We’re reaching out to ask for your support. Any contribution—no matter how small—will go directly toward easing the burden on Tyler’s family during this critical time, allowing them to focus on what matters most: keeping Tyler strong and hopeful as he recovers and starts his heart transplant evaluation process.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your generosity and support–whether you know the Duggans and have been keeping up with Ty’s situation, or if you’re seeing this fundraiser that was shared by someone.
